Creating workflows

You can create new workflows with the Workflow Assistant. You can start from scratch or from an existing workflow.

  • Copying to Clipboard is not available in workflows or jobs.

To create a workflow starting from scratch:

  1. Select New Workflow… in the Workflow drop-down list or from the Process menu. Or click the Omnipage tb st wa Creating workflows Workflow Assistant button when no workflow is loaded. The Workflow Assistant starts with a title Create New Workflow.

  2. Type in a workflow name.

  3. Click Next with the Omnipage icon wa fs Creating workflows Fresh Start icon selected. The Load Files step is offered as the first step.

  4. If this step is suitable, set its options then click Next. Otherwise choose a different step from the drop-down list that appears when you click the strip at the bottom of the step. It offers all steps that are available at this point in the workflow. Choose one and set its options. Then click Next.

  1. Continue clicking Next, selecting steps and setting options.

Only one image acquisition step is allowed. Unlimited saving steps are possible, even to the same target.

  1. After all desired steps are added, click Finish.

  2. Finish can be selected at any time, at any workflow position.

To create a workflow from an existing one:

  1. Select New Workflow… in the Workflow drop-down list or from the Process menu. Or click the Omnipage tb st wa Creating workflows Workflow Assistant button when no workflow is loaded. The Workflow Assistant starts with a title Create New Workflow.

  2. Click the Omnipage icon wa op Creating workflows Existing Workflows icon, then select an already existing workflow.

  3. Type in a name for the new workflow and click Next.

  4. The workflow steps are displayed in the left side.

    To change a workflow step to another one, click the strip at the bottom of the step and choose from the list that displays the currently available steps.

    To modify step options, click a step. Its options will be displayed on the right side. Change options when necessary, then click Next.  

  5. Continue selecting steps and changing options.

  6. Click Finish.

  7. If you delete or change a step any subsequent dependent steps will also be deleted.
