Options: Proofing

Click the Proofing tab in the Options dialog box to select settings for proofing.

Omnipage tb st options Proofing

Open the Options dialog box with the Options button in the Standard toolbar or from the Tools menu.

The Proofing panel offers the following settings:

Mark non-dictionary words

Select this to have non-dictionary words marked. A red underline indicates words that do not match a word in any of the dictionaries being used. It will also flag non-dictionary words you type or paste into recognized text. A dark yellow highlight indicates suspect characters.

Automatically proofread results after OCR

Select this to have the Proofing dialog box appear after recognition on all pages containing suspect words. In a multi-page document, proofing starts as soon as the first page is recognized, and may continue while the next page is being processed.

Direct OCR has its separate switch to enable Proofing.

Enable IntelliTrain

Use this button to specify whether IntelliTrain should run during proofing or not. When it runs, it takes your proofing corrections and considers using them to solve other cases of unsure recognition in the document. This setting is also applied during Direct OCR. IntelliTrain training is added to any manual training you do, and can be saved to a training file.

Training File

Use this to specify a training file to be used during the proofing of future pages. To remove a training file from the memory, select [none]. While a training file is loaded, any new training data is provisionally added to this file.

  • Before recognizing Japanese, Korean or Chinese texts, you should disable these three options, so there is no non-dictionary word marking, no automatic proofreading and IntelliTrain is disabled. You should also ensure that no training file is loaded.
