Settings files

The settings you select in OmniPage can greatly affect OCR results.

Saving a settings file

You can save OmniPage settings to a file. A settings file is useful for quickly loading particular settings that you need for certain documents.

To save settings to a file:

  1. Open the Options dialog box form the Tools menu or click Omnipage tb st options Settings files in the Standard toolbar.

  2. Select the desired settings on the appropriate tabs in the Options dialog box.

  3. Click the Save Settings button on the right of the Options dialog box. The Save Settings dialog box appears.

  4. Select a folder location for the settings file.

  5. Type in a file name for the settings file and click OK.

  6. All the current settings in the Options dialog box (and some others) are saved into a settings file with a .sts extension.

  7. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Loading a settings file

You can load a previously saved settings file to quickly restore OmniPage settings for particular documents.

To load a settings file:

  1. Open the Options dialog box form the Tools menu or click Omnipage tb st options Settings files in the Standard toolbar.

  2. Click the Load Settings button on the right of the Options dialog box. The Load Settings dialog box appears.

  3. Select the folder location of the settings file you want to load.

  4. Select the name of the settings file you want to load and click OK.

    The settings change according to the selected file.

  5. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

  6. You can click the Use Defaults button in the Options dialog box to reset all OmniPage settings and options in the Options dialog box and toolbars to their default values.
