Starting the program

To start OmniPage do one of the following:

  • Click Start in the Windows task bar and choose All Programs > Nuance OmniPage 18 > OmniPage 18  [Professional]

  • Double-click the Omnipage icon op Starting the program OmniPage icon in the program’s installation folder or on the Windows desktop if you placed it there.

  • Double-click Omnipage icon opd Starting the program an OmniPage Document (OPD) icon or file name; the clicked document is loaded into the program.

  • Right-click one or more image file icons or file names for a shortcut menu. Select Open With… OmniPage application. The images are loaded into the program.

On first opening, the OmniPage title screen is displayed and then its desktop, in Classic View. Use the Window menu to set a different view. Choose Select a View from the Help menu for a brief description of the views. For guidance on using the program, open the How-to-Guides from the Help menu.

There are several ways of running the program with a limited interface:

  • Use the Batch Manager program. Click Start in the Windows task bar and choose All Programs > Nuance OmniPage 18 > OmniPage Batch Manager, or

  • Right-click the Omnipage icon taskbar Starting the program OmniPage Agent icon in the taskbar and select Show Batch Manager.

  • Click the Omnipage icon acquire text Starting the program Acquire Text button from the OmniPage18 toolbar or the File menu of a supported application using the Direct OCRTM facility. In Vista or Windows 7, use the Nuance OCR tab.

  • Right-click on one or more image file icons or file names in Windows Explorer or your desktop or Easy Loader for a shortcut menu. Select OmniPage 18 and choose a workflow from its sub-menu.

  • Right-click the Omnipage icon taskbar Starting the program OmniPage Agent icon on the task bar. Choose a workflow to start the program and run the workflow. If you do not see this icon on the task bar, click Start in the Windows task bar and choose All Programs > Nuance OmniPage 18 > OmniPage Agent or enable it in the General panel of the Options dialog box.
