Image enhancement templates
If you have a number of similar images to enhance, you can build up a list of enhancement steps, and save them in an image enhancement template. To apply these enhancement steps to other image files, you can load the previously saved image enhancement template file. You should unload a template file when it is no longer needed.
To create and store an image enhancement template:

Load an image in OmniPage.

Click the Enhancement Image button in the Image toolbar to bring an image file into the Image Enhancement window.

Carry out your image enhancement steps and add them to the History clicking the Apply button.

When you are done, choose Save Enhancement Template from the File menu of the Image Enhancement window.

Browse to your preferred destination and save the template file. The extension is .ipp.
To apply image enhancement templates when processing documents manually:

Open the image in the Image Enhancement window. See steps 1-2 above.

Choose Load Enhancement Template from the File menu.

Select the template, click OK to apply the template to the loaded image. Results are immediately displayed. Do further manual enhancement if desired.

Click Page Ready or Document Ready.
To apply image enhancement templates when processing documents automatically:

Select Enhancement Template in the Tools menu.

Select the desired template file.
-
Click Set As Current.

Set other options as required then start automatic processing.

The enhancement template can also be selected on the Process panel of the Options dialog box.
To apply image enhancement templates and additionally enhance images manually:

Select Options from the Tools menu and select the Process tab.

In the Process panel, select an image enhancement template in the Apply Enhancement Template selection box.

Select Enhance Manually and click OK.

Loaded images appear in the Image Enhancement window with the template already applied. You can make additional manual enhancement steps if you wish.
To apply image enhancement templates in workflows:

Select the Enhance Images step after the Load Files step when you create a workflow.

Select an option in the Enhance Images panel of the Workflow Assistant. The choices are:

Display images for manual enhancement: during the execution of a workflow, each loaded image will be displayed for manual editing.

Apply enhancement template: an already saved enhancement template will be applied automatically to all images being processed by the workflow.

Apply enhancement template and display: the workflow will apply the selected image enhancement template, and will also display page images so that you can make further edits to them.

The second and third options can only be chosen if an enhancement template has already been selected.

Use the Add button in the Enhance Images panel of the Workflow Assistant to add template file names from network locations to the template list.
To unload an image enhancement template:

Select Enhancement Template from the Tools menu

In the Image Enhancement Template Files dialog box, select [none] and click the Set As Current button.

Enhancement templates can also be unloaded on the Tools / Options / Process panel. Select <none> in the Apply Enhancement Template selection box.
To delete an image enhancement template:

Delete the template file in your operating system. The default location is
under Vista
Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ScanSoft\OmniPage17\EnhancementTemplate
under Windows XP:
Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\ScanSoft\OmniPage17\EnhancementTemplate
Image enhancement template files have a .ipp extension.

If you cannot find the Application Data folder, do the following:
under Vista and Windows 7
Click Organize, select Folder and Search Options. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab and select Show hidden files and folders. Click Apply, then OK.under Windows XP
From the Start menu select Settings / Network Connections. In the Network Connections window, select Tools / Folder Options. In the Folder Options dialog box, select the View tab.
In the View panel under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files and folders.
Click Apply, then OK.
To embed an image enhancement template in an OmniPage Document

Create an image enhancement template.

In the Image Enhancement Template Files dialog box, click the Embed.. button.
The Embed in OPD dialog box appears.

Enter a name, then click OK.

Close the Image Enhancement Template Files dialog box.

Process your document and save it to the file type OmniPage Document.
When you load an OPD with an embedded image enhancement template, it appears in the list of image enhancement templates as [embedded]. You can extract and save it.
