This topic relates only to OmniPage Professional.

To mark words or phrases by selection

  • Click an appropriate marking tool or the equivalent menu item from the Format menu, or from the Text Editor shortcut menu.

  • Drag the cursor to select text for highlighting / striking out / marking for redacting, then click the tool. Alternatively, click the tool, then make multiple selections and click the tool again to finish.

  • To remove a marking, select it and click the tool that placed it.

Use this tool to permanently black our all text in the document that is marked for redacting (whether by selection or searching).

After clicking Redact Document a dialog box appears where you can decide to perform redacting on the original document or on its copy. Prefer a copy, otherwise you will never know what was removed from where. In this case you receive two documents, one with marking for redaction (gray highlight) and one redacted (blacked-out text pieces).
