Formatting fonts
You can format characters in the Text Editor by using the Formatting toolbar or the Font dialog box from the Format menu. In all formatting levels except Plain Text, you can change the font type, size and attributes (bold, italic, underlined) for selected text. The Font dialog box also offers subscripts, superscripts, colored text or backgrounds, underline style and character spacing.
To change font type:
-
Select the text whose font type you want to change.
-
On the Formatting toolbar, click a font name.
To change font size:
-

-
Select or type in a size in the Font size selection box.

In Plain Text you can specify one font type and size to be applied to the whole document display, but it has no effect on any other formatting levels. When you switch back to a higher level, all its different fonts, sizes and attributes are restored.
-
Open the Font Matching dialog box from the OCR panel of the Options dialog box to specify which fonts are permitted for use on texts entering the Text Editor from recognition. During editing, all fonts on your system are available.
To change font attributes:

Select the text whose font attributes you want to change.
-
On the Formatting toolbar, click the appropriate button.

To remove font attributes:
-
Select the text.
-
On the Formatting toolbar, click the appropriate button again.

You can apply special formatting to the first letter or letters of selected paragraphs, treating them as dropped capitals. Open the Drop Caps dialog box through the Format menu.
