Pasting text or images

You can paste the Clipboard contents at the cursor position in the Text Editor or in place of the current selection. The Paste command may not be available if Clipboard contents are unsuitable for the target location. Large graphics cannot be pasted into the Text Editor. Images can be pasted as new pages in the document whenever the focus is not on the Text Editor.

To paste text into the Text Editor:

  1. Place the cursor at the location in the Text Editor where you want to place the text.

    There must already be recognized text in the Text Editor.

  2. Click the Paste button Omnipage tb st paste Pasting text or images in the Standard toolbar or choose Paste in the Edit menu.

    The text appears at the cursor location.

To paste an image into the Page Image panel:

  1. Open the desired image in a suitable application and copy it to Clipboard.

  2. Click in the Page Image panel to make it the active view.

  3. Click the Paste button Omnipage tb st paste Pasting text or images in the Standard toolbar or choose Paste in the Edit menu.

    The image is added to the Page Image panel as a new page in an open document or as the first page of a new document.

  4. Be sure the image file type is supported and that its resolution is between 75 and 600 dpi. For optimum OCR results, the resolution should be near 300 dpi.
