Copying text or graphics

You can copy recognized text or retained graphics from the Text Editor to the Clipboard.

To copy text or graphics:

  1. Select the text or graphic that you want to copy in the Text Editor. The selection can be a block of text, part or all of a table, a graphic or a whole page. Do not copy selections containing both text and graphics.

  1. Click Omnipage tb st copy Copying text or graphics in the Standard toolbar or choose Copy in the Edit menu or in the shortcut menu.

The selected text or graphic is placed on the Clipboard.

  2. If you want graphics placed in DIB format (Device Independent Bitmap), text and graphics must be selected and copied separately. You can only select and copy one graphic at a time. If you copy text and a graphic together, they are placed in RTF format.

  • Text is placed with formatting in RTF format. When you paste it into an application, formatting will be retained if possible. If your target application cannot handle the formatting, plain text or Unicode text will be pasted. The resolution of grayscale and color images may be reduced.
Text or graphics copied from one document in OmniPage and pasted into the Text Editor in a different document will display at the formatting level currently or subsequently set.

  • You can also send all pages, current page or selected pages to Clipboard by selecting it in the Export Results drop-down list. See Copying pages to Clipboard.
